Overview
Snaplay - Screen Capture & Recording ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the Extension accesses and how it is used.
Data We Collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
The Extension stores your preferences (screenshot format, recording format) locally in Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync, which may sync across your devices via your Google account in accordance with Google's own privacy policy.
Permissions Explained
- storage — Saves your format preferences locally. No personal data stored.
- activeTab — Accesses the current tab only when you initiate a capture. Not used passively.
- scripting — Injects scripts into the active tab to measure page dimensions for full-page capture and initialize the region selection tool.
- desktopCapture — Captures your screen for recording. The capture only starts when you click "Start Recording".
- downloads — Saves screenshot and recording files directly to your local downloads folder.
Screenshots & Recordings
All captured screenshots and recordings are saved directly to your local downloads folder. They are never uploaded to any server. The Extension has no backend or cloud infrastructure.
Third-Party Services
The Extension does not communicate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised date.
